Promising striker Padraic Cunningham signed his first professional contract with the club ahead of the 2015 Premier Division season.

Cunningham signed from Mervue United in June of 2014 and he made regular substitute appearances during Galway United’s promotion winning campaign, while also breaking his scoring duck against champions Dundalk in the FAI Cup at Oriel Park.

Cunningham made 25 appearances for the Tribesmen in 2015, scoring 7 goals and he contributed 8 assists. At the beginning of August, Cunningham’s season was ended after he sustained a serious knee injury in training but his impressive performances earned him a new contract for the 2016 season.

Cunningham only made 19 appearances in an injury-hit 2016 season, but he signed a new deal with the club in December 2016 ahead of the 2017 season.
