Injury Update for the visit of Limerick FC

Ahead of our next league match at Eamonn Deacy Park against Limerick FC, we spoke to Galway United physiotherapist Emmett Hartigan, of Thera Fitness www.physiogalway.ie, and got an up-to-date injury update ahead of Friday’s clash with the Shannonsiders. Kick off is at 7.45pm at Eamonn Deacy Park.

Read Emmett’s injury update below:

Sam Oji
Serving the last of his four game suspension against Limerick.

Sam is recovering from a viral infection. He’s expected back within the week. Emmett hopes that Sam will be fit for Monday’s trip to Oriel Park to take on Dundalk.

Kilian Cantwell
There will be a delay in Kilian’s recovery from knee surgery. Kilian is still working and doing his rehab with Emmett but no accurate time frame can be given for his return as they don’t want to rush his recovery. Assessments are on-going.

Jason Molloy
Jason continues his recovery from a metatarsal fracture sustained against Shamrock Rovers at Tallaght Stadium. Emmett has targeted 4 more weeks of recovery before he will be available for selection again.

Andy O’Connell
Andy sustained a heavy knock against Cockhill Celtic in the EA SPORTS Cup, his ankle ligaments were damaged and similar to Jason Molloy, his recovery time is expected to be around 4 weeks.

Stephen Walsh, Marc Ludden and Aaron McDonagh have all overcome various knocks and trained well ahead of Friday’s game against Limerick.

Galway United are back in league action at Eamonn Deacy Park on Friday night against Limerick FC. Don’t miss it! Kick off is at 7.45pm.
