Post match reaction: Sligo Rovers

Tommy Dunne spoke to Galway United TV after last night’s narrow loss at home to Sligo Rovers.

Sligo hit the front in the 5th minute when Dinny Corcoran converted from the penalty spot after referee Neil Doyle awarded a controversial penalty for an infringement on Raffaele Cretaro.

After an initial nervy 20 minute period from the home side, United took control of the game but a combination of lax finishing and good goalkeeping from Sligo netminder Richard Brush helped the Bit o’ Red to their first win of the season.

Galway United will have to put the Sligo defeat behind them quickly as another crunch tie approaches at Eamonn Deacy Park against Limerick FC on Friday next week. Kick off: 7.45pm.
