Reaction: Limerick 2-4 Galway United

After an underwhelming first half performance, where the sides couldn’t be separated at 1-1, United produced an excellent second half showing, scoring three goals and it could have been more but for Limerick goalkeeper Tommy Holland, who was in inspired form.

American striker Jake Keegan completed his first hat-trick for United and Gary Shanahan got on the scoresheet against his hometown club late on.

Former United striker Vinny Faherty had levelled matters in the first half for the Shannonsiders and the hosts got a late consolation when Ian Turner notched an 82nd minute penalty.

After the game, hat-trick hero Jake Keegan and United boss Tommy Dunne spoke to Galway United TV.
