Galway United secured their second win on the spin, on Monday evening, after a thrilling 3-2 victory over Drogheda United, at Sullivan and Lambe Park.
United trailed 2-1 at the break, before second half goals from substitute Kris Twardek and Axel Pieshold secured all three points for the visitors.
The westerners got off to the worst possible start in this game, as they found themselves 2-0 behind inside the opening quarter.
Mark Doyle opened the scoring for the hosts in the 3rd minute, before Jago Godden doubled their advantage 15 minutes later, following an exquisite delivery from Brandon Kavanagh.
To their credit, United didn't drop their heads and they pulled a goal back in the 21st minute, through Francely Lomboto.
John Caulfield's side started the second period on the front foot, and they levelled matters with just over half an hour remaining, when Twardek made an immediate impact after being introduced from the bench.
Moments later, Pieshold wriggled his way past the Drogheda defence before finishing past Luke Dennison in the Drogheda goal, to give United the lead, with just over 20 minutes remaining.
Kevin Doherty's charges pushed for an equaliser for the remainder of the contest, but it was United who held on for all three points.
Next up for the men in maroon is a home fixture against Shelbourne, Eamonn Deacy Park on Friday evening.
