Conor McCormack, born on May 18, 1990, in Carlingford, County Louth, is the esteemed club captain of Galway United. A versatile midfielder and right back, McCormack’s career commenced in the youth academies of Manchester United and Triestina. He made his professional debut with Shamrock Rovers in 2011, contributing to their League of Ireland Premier Division title that year. His tenure at Cork City from 2017 to 2019 was particularly distinguished, where he secured both the Premier Division and FAI Cup in 2017. In 2021, McCormack joined Galway United, bringing leadership and experience to the squad. Under his captaincy, the team achieved promotion to the Premier Division in 2023. Beyond his club commitments, McCormack has represented the Republic of Ireland at various youth levels, earning the FAI Under-17 International Player of the Year award in 2007.
