After stints with Longford Town and Galway Hibernians, Walsh returned to Galway United in 2021 for his fourth spell with the club. In the 2023 season, Walsh’s impressive goal-scoring ability was pivotal in the team’s success, earning him a place in the PFAI First Division Team of the Year. In November 2024, he re-signed for the 2025 season, continuing to bring his experience and leadership to the squad.
Stephen is now the all-time club record holder after surpassing Kevin Cassidy's record in 2025. As he continues in 2026, his number of appearances just continues to grow.
