Brian Cunningham called up to Galway United Senior Men’s side
FÁILTE BRIAN CUNNINGHAM 👋
Galway United are delighted to announce that Brian Cunningham has been called up to our Senior Men’s side for the 2025 season.
The Headford native, Cunningham, joins up with Caulfield’s side after some very impressive performances at Academy level. He becomes the second Cunningham brother to be part of a senior squad for Galway United. His brother Padraic Cunningham, whom United fans will know very well, played an important role for United from 2014-2022 playing on 110 occasions.
Again, similarly to his brother, Brian normally operates as a striker and has already made an impact at United. Brian was first named in a Galway United senior squad in 2023, and just a month later he made his senior debut in July of 2023 in an convincing FAI Cup win at Eamonn Deacy Park against Bangor Celtic. Brian has also represented his national team, lining out for the Republic of Ireland Under-18 Schools side in the Centenary Shield. Cunningham is a player who certainly has some great potential and is looking to fulfil that this season as he’s called up into our senior side. We’re looking forward to seeing his development and wish him the best of luck.
Brian is yet another player who has come through the Galway United academy, joining Cillian Tollett who recently made the jump into Caulfield’s squad for 2025. To keep up to date on any up and coming Academy players and results make sure to follow our academy social medias this season.
