Cotter already has three seasons at senior level under her belt which included being named as Cork’s vice captain. Niamh made her senior debut against Treaty United in 2023, and since then she has become a key figure with The Rebels, whilst also boasting Ireland WU19’s experience

Niamh joins last weeks newcomer Elizabeth Knight and the returning Jamie Erikson, who both featured in the squad in the team’s last outing.

Points were shared in a 0-0 draw when these two sides both met back in Tallaght in May of this year. Three of the six matchups between the Tribesmen and The Hoops have ended in a draw, since Galway United’s return to the top division in 2024, with Shamrock Rovers winning the remaining three. Caulfield and his side will be hoping to create a new result on Sunday evening.

You can watch highlights from the last encounter below

Hickey Return, A Boost for United 🔙

Galway United’s 2024 Player of The Season, Patrick Hickey, made his return from injury last weekend when he came on as a second half substitution in a 1-0 defeat to Cork City last weekend.

A crucial player for the Tribesmen and a fan favourite in Terryland, Hickey missed five games through injury, having made his last start in a 2-1 defeat away to Sligo Rovers back in June.

The American leads the league for duals won this season (207), as well as aerial duals won (145), and was also best in class in both areas for the 2024 season too. United fans will certainly hope that the physicality that Hickey brings, can become key to turning around of recent form.

Before their trip to Terryland, Shamrock Rovers will make the trip to The Fadil Vokrri Stadium in Kosovo, where they will face FC Ballkani in a third round UEFA Conference League qualifier match on Thursday.

The Hoops enjoyed plenty of success in the competition last season, defeating sides such as The New Saints, Larne and Borac Banja Luka as well as picking up impressive draws against Rapid Wien and Apoel Nicosia, before ultimately falling to a defeat on penalties in the round of 32 by Norwegian outfit Molde.

This season, the Dublin side were placed into the 2nd round of qualifying, where they defeated St. Joseph’s of Gibraltar by a 4-0 aggregate score line.

C’mon United, see you at Eamonn Deacy Park!
