Ciaran Kilduff remains in charge of their side for the 2026, and he has made a number of impressive signings in the off season.

One of Dundalk's numerous new signings is former United goalkeeper, Conor Kearns.

Galway native, Daryl Horgan is a key man for the Lilywhites, with Eoin Kenny also in impressive form for the 2018 league champions.

Dundalk won the First Division title last season, and they have began their return to the Premier Division with an impressive start, which has included draws against Shamrock Rovers and Derry City.

United come into this game following a narrow 1-0 defeat against St. Patrick's Athletic on Monday night.

Galway conceded a 90th minute winner against the Dublin side, in an impressive defensive display.

Monday night's game was John Caulfield's 200th game in charge of the Terryland side. Last Friday's 1-0 win over Sligo Rovers, was Caulfield's 100th win while in charge of the westerners.

Caulfield has made a number of new signings for 2026, with Wasiri Williams, Kris Twardek, Lee Devitt, Matty Wolfe, Gianfranco Facchineri, Al-Amin Kazeem, Francely Lomboto, Arthur Parker, Hugo Pires Da Cunha, Nicholas Fleuriau Chateau, Connor Barratt and Frantz Pierrot all joining.

United's newest signing Frantz Pierrot could make his Galway debut on Friday night.

Manager's thoughts

Speaking ahead of Friday's game, Galway United manager, Caulfield urged fans to come out and support the side on Friday night.

"Just like last Friday against Sligo, we need the crowd to come out in force. We need them behind these lads. It's been a tough week, especially this early in the season. We need to be up for the fight on Friday night."

The Roscommon native also stated that new signing Pierrot will be available for selection on Friday.

"He's in, he'll train tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday, so he will be available for Friday night."
