Galway United return to action this Friday night, when they face Dundalk FC at Munster FA Turners Cross.

Friday's game will be a historic clash as Galway will play their first home game outside the county since 1994. United's only other home fixture that took place outside of Galway, was at Harold's Cross against Shelbourne, 32 years ago.
This game was originally meant to take place in Pearse Stadium, due to renovations taking place on the playing surface at Eamonn Deacy Park. However, as the Galway senior Gaelic football side face Westmeath this weekend, United's move to the GAA stadium has been delayed until their fixture against Shelbourne next week.

Dundalk come into this game following a 1-1 draw with Drogheda United, in the Louth Derby, before the summer break.
Ciaran Kilduff remains in charge of their side for the 2026, and he has impressed during his time in charge.
Dundalk have been the standout side for many people so far this season, and are well in contention for one of the European spots.
Galway native, Daryl Horgan is a key man for the Lilywhites, with Eoin Kenny also in impressive form for the 2018 league champions.
Dundalk won the First Division title last season, and they have began their return to the Premier Division with an impressive start, which included a victory over Galway at Oriel Park.

United come into this game following a 1-1 draw against Shelbourne at Tolka Park.
Galway equalised through substitute, Frantz Pierrot, with his first touch of the contest.
The westerners have been relatively impressive so far this season, and should probably be on more points than what they are currently on.
The men in maroon currently sit 7th in the league table.

Speaking ahead of Friday's game, Galway United manager, Caulfield urged fans to come out and support the side on Friday night.
"This the toughest decision the club has has to make since I've been at the club. I'd ask our supporters to please get behind the team. I know there's been buses at subsidised prices being put on."
