Galway United return to action this Friday night, when they face Shelbourne at Eamonn Deacy Park, in the SSE Airtricity Men's Premier Division.

Shels come into this game following a dramtic victory last week.

The Reds only faced Galway in Terryland a few weeks ago, when the sides drew 2-2.

The Dublin outfit have been inconsistent so far this season, but they will still be a serious test for United on Friday night.

The 2024 champions champions are currently managed by former Galway United player, John Russell.

Shelbourne had an impressive finish to the 2025 season, which saw them finish third in the league and they secured European football as a result. They will be hoping for something similar again this year.

Speaking ahead of the game against Shelbourne, Caulfield said he was looking forward to the contest.

"This is a really big game. It's very tight in the table at the moment. Hopefully we will have a big support again on Friday night. We are looking forward to it."
