Phil Trill spoke to our media team in the run-in to Saturday’s game and highlighted the challenge that lies ahead.
We have a lot of tired bodies in our team at this stage of the year, The Underdogs have been training all year for this. It promises to be an interesting encounter. There’s a great sense of excitement for the game”
“TG4 have been a major component and it’s a credit to them with the work that they continue to do for the women’s game. We had our own Jodie Griffin winning the TG4 Goal of the Year award at the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division awards night, you can’t ask much more of TG4. Any time they have come in, they have been amazing.”
United will come into Saturday’s clash after three weeks without a fixture, their last game being the final game of the Women’s Premier Division season, an impressive 4-0 win against Wexford Youths in Ferrycarrig Park, Abbie Callanan and Rola Olusola scoring two goals each on the night to cap off a memorable debut season in the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division.
