Kate Thompson Signs for 2024

Galway United are delighted to announce that Kate Thompson has re-signed for the senior women’s team ahead of the 2024 season.

The 18-year-old midfielder has committed to The Tribeswomen for 2024 and heads into her second season in Galway since signing for the club this year.
Thompson made 22 appearances in all competitions last season for United and scored three goals in that period.
Before joining United, Thompson played for Galway WFC in 2022 making 22 league appearances and scoring once.
Thompson has come on leaps and bounds since, representing Ireland at various underage levels from U15 up and even being captain on multiple occasions and is now the Ireland Women’s U19s Captain, most recently playing against Belgium last month. She has become a key figure for United this year, playing deep in midfield or even in defense at times. She commands the midfield areas and has the awareness to both play a killer pass and halt an opposition attack.
