In High School Hammer played football for the Lobo Rush, where she was State Finalist, Region three Finalist and earned a place in the Nationals Qualifier while playing for the Rush at the age of 16. Hammer then appeared in three state championships at Houston High School, taking home the title in 2013 and 2015, while finishing runner-up in 2014. Hammer throughout her teens won multiple awards including the Rookie of the Year in 2013 and Freshman MVP in the same year. Followed by Goalkeeper of the year, Defensive MVP and qualifying for the All-State team twice all in the space of three years. Kaylee has refined her goalkeeping skills since in Alabama and Kennesaw and at 25-years-old she looks to take the next step of her career in Europe with United.
When I was young, I looked up a couple player. For goalkeeping, Manuel Neuer and Hope Solo were goalkeepers I strived to be like while Messi and Abby Wambach were my favorite field players.
Ping-pong, it’s incredible how fast and technical their reflexes are! I could never. I also enjoy watching volleyball! It’s a very fast pace game were I think some aspects of goalkeeping translate well.
I love to go rock climbing! I got into it a couple years back, I enjoy the challenge and problem solving aspects of bouldering. I also enjoy drawing and creating illustrations, I prefer to work digitally or with ink.
