Ava Mullins called up to Galway United Senior Women’s side

Galway United are delighted to announce that Ava Mullins has been called up to our Senior Women’s team ahead of the 2025 season.

The Galwegian full-back made her senior debut for Galway United on the 12th October 2024 in the final game of the season, against Athlone Town.

Mullins initially signed for the Galway United academy from Maree Oranmore. She proudly became their first ever women’s international player. It was shortly after this that she joined the Galway United Academy for our inaugural year in Women’s Football. Ava has since played at every level for the Galway United from U17, U19 and now Seniors.

In 2023 Ava was the top scorer for our Women’s U17 side with 12 goals, and in 2024 she broke into the senior side making her debut against Athlone Town. Mullins hard work has paid off as she is now called up permanently to the seniors, and still at just 17 years of age is now playing at the highest level in the country.

Ava has also gone on to represent Ireland at various underage levels on multiple occasions and is continuing to do so while playing with Galway United at the highest level.

Ava is a player with big potential who is set to light up Eamonn Deacy Park in 2025. Speaking on Ava being called up to the Senior Side, Manager, Phil Trill commented:

“We’re delighted to have Ava on board, it shows a really progressive element in the club”

Trill continued: “She trained quite a bit with us last year and done well. She then came off the bench for her debut against Athlone for that win in the final game of the season. We’re very happy and very exicted. A lot of credit goes to Ava and her family, and of course her former club Maree Oranmore.”
