Amanda McQuillan signs for Galway United

Galway United are delighted to announce that 2025 Women’s Premier Division, Golden Glove Winner, Amanda McQuillan has signed for our senior women’s side ahead of the 2026 season.
The Meath native joins United following a hugely successful spell with Shelbourne FC where she has over a century of competitive appearances for the club.

Amanda, who holds a Masters Degree in Business Analytics, returned to Shelbourne in 2022 following 3 years on scholarship in the US at Central Connecticut State University. Her successes include winning the FAI Cup in 2024 as well as claiming the league’s “Golden Glove” title for 2 years running.

McQuillan is a veteran of the league making 159 appearances with Shelbourne and picking up league titles in 2016 and 2022 as well as lifting the FAI Cup in 2016, 2022 and 2024. She has also represented Ireland at underage level as well as training with the WNT on a number of occasions.

Speaking on her move west, McQuillan tells our media team: “I want to come in and be a leader, and I want to win trophies! Galway have always been up there and hopefully with me coming in, we can spark that and drive everybody on.”
