Ceola Bergin signs for Galway United

Galway United are delighted to announce that Irish WU19 International striker, Ceola Bergin has signed for our senior women’s side ahead of the 2025 season.

Roscrea native, Ceola Bergin established herself as the starting forward for Wexford FC during the 2024 season clocking up 3 league goals along with a hat-trick in the Avenir Sports All Island Cup against Cliftonville.

Ceola started at LOI Academy level with Wexford Youths scoring 28 goals across the 2023 season and helping her side win the EA Sports WU19 Cup. Bergin also picked up the award for Academy Player of The Year in recognition of her goal scoring efforts that season.

Following on from a successful season in the U19s, Bergin worked her way up as the favoured starting striker for Wexford FC during the 2024 season. Following a flurry of goals in all of her games in June 2024, she was awarded the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division player of the month ahead of Athlone Town’s Jesi Rossman and Shelbourne’s Noelle Murray.

Ceola will be around familiar faces in Galway having played at WU19 International level with Kate Thompson, Eve Dossen, Nicole Nix and Rola Olusola who all represented Ireland Under-19 level last year. Bergin has impressed at international level scoring five international goals including an impressive hat-trick against Wales in September 2023.
