The David Forde Golf Classic 2017

We are delighted to announce that the 2017 edition of the annual Galway United David Forde Golf Classic will take place on Wednesday, June 14th.

The 2017 Galway United Golf Classic is in association with former United goalkeeper David Forde. David made over fifty appearances for Galway United and has played for the Republic of Ireland international team on 24 occasions.

This year’s tournament is being held at the Galway Bay Golf Resort, Oranmore, and it promises to be an excellent day for our supporters and sponsors.

The inaugural David Forde Golf Classic will recognise David’s contribution to football, both to Galway United and Ireland. With a number of other celebrities in attendance, it promises to be a great day of sport and entertainment.

Among those in attendance will be Stephen Hunt and Kevin Kilbane from the world of football, as well as Connacht Rugby legend Eric Elwood. Davy Fitzgerald, Joe Canning and Padraic Joyce will join us from GAA, along with Barry Murphy and George McMahon from television.

The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 1.00pm, with registrations taking place from 12.00 to 12.30pm.

The cost of a team of four is €500 which includes refreshments at the ninth green and an evening dinner.

Tee boxes are also available for sponsorship at €200 each.
