Galway United announce three key re-signings ahead 2025 season
Galway United are thrilled to share that Abbie Callanan, Heather Loomes and Abbiegayle Ronayne will be back in maroon for the 2025 season.
Abbie Callanan
21-Year-Old Striker Abbie Callanan heads into yet another Season with United after signing in our inaugural season in 2023. Former Ireland underage international, Callanan, hailing from Adrahan, made 13 first team appearances in 2024. Bringing her to over 30 appearances for the Tribeswomen. She has been a pivotal part of the forward line since the founding of the team, and is set for a big 2025.
Heather Loomes
16-Year-Old Midfielder Heather Loomes will be back for Galway United in 2025. Initially making her debut in late 2023, Loomes became the youngest ever player to wear the prestigious maroon jersey at just 15. She has continued her development since, breaking into the first team and also cementing her spot in the Ireland underage setup.

Abbiegayle Ronayne
22-year-old goalkeeper Abbiegayle Ronayne will be also back for 2025. Ronayne, similarly to Callanan signed as part of our first ever women’s side in 2023. Abbiegayle featured regularly in the Premier Division and All-Island Cup, with some key performances on the way to our first ever piece of women’s silverware. She then took a brief career break in the United States at the end of the 2023 season. In the summer of 2024 she joined back up with the squad, and is excited to get going for another full season in 2025.
