Where is Richmond Park?📍

Richmond Park can be found on Emmett Road in Inichicore, Dublin 8. The stadium is easily reachable from all parts of Dublin City.

Traveling by Car to Dublin 🏎️

It is approximately a 2 hours and 10 minutes journey from Galway City to Richmond Park if traveling by car via the M6. Be aware that there is multiple tolls on this trip. The route is as follows:

  • Take R336, R339 and Bothar na dTreabh to N6

  • Follow M6 and M4 to N4 in South Dublin

1 hr 42 min (185 km)

 

  • Follow N4 and Chapelizod Bypass/R148 to Emmet Rd/R810 in Dublin

15 min (12.9 km)

Parking

There is plenty of street parking around Richmond Park. Those wishing to park on the street are reminded to park respectfully and to not park in an area that will affect local residents.

Fans also have the option of parking at the Red Cow Park and Ride car park, where they can access the Luas tram to bring them into the city towards Richmond Park.

Traveling by Train to Dublin 🚆

Richmond Park is a 25 minute walk from Heuston Station which is served by the 79 bus and the Red Luas line.You can get a train from Galway to Heuston at Ceannt Station for a travel time of about 2 hours and 30 minutes. An adult fare for this trip starts from €14.99 and student or young adult fares from €8.30

If traveling into Connolly Station, you should travel to Inchicore on the Red Luas line Goldenbridge being the closest stop. From Goldenbridge cross the canal, veer left and continue down Connolly Avenue towards Emmet Road. Visit Luas for information on timetables, routes, etc.

Traveling by Bus to Dublin 🚌

You can get a bus operated by Citylink from Galway Bus Station to Bachelors Walk, Dublin.

There are multiple bus routes you can get from here, one of which is from Aston Quay, a four minute walk from Bachelors Walk to take either the C1/C2/C3/C4 bus for about 16 minutes towards Memorial Gardens which is  only a three minute walk from Richmond Park.

You can also take the Luas from Bachelors Walk, with the Red Line stop at Jervis only being a three minute walk away. The Goldenbridge stop is the nearest to Richmond Park which is less than a ten minute walk away. 

Traveling by Luas if in Dublin City🚊

The Red Line between Saggart/Tallaght and the City Centre serves Inchicore at a number of stations, with Goldenbridge being the closest. From Goldenbridge cross the canal, veer left and continue down Connolly Avenue towards Emmet Road. Visit Luas for information on timetables, routes, etc.

Returning to Galway 🔙

Bus travel is the only public transport option back to Galway following the game. It is highly recommended to book your return journey in advance as spaces can book up. The latest Citylink bus back is the 761 route to Galway at 00:15 which arrives at Galway Bus Station at 02:45.

There are no Trains back to Galway following the game, the latest Dublin – Galway route is at 20:30PM

Entering the Ground 🏟️

The away-end of Richmond Park is located to the right-side of the Main Stand, along with the terraced “Shed End” of the ground.

Galway United fans attending the game must enter the ground via the archway on Emmet Road which is the main side of the ground.

Galway United fans will have allocated seating for this game – no terraced seating will be made available for Galway United supporters planning to attend the game.

There is food available in the ground available to Galway United fans. There will be a tuck shop, along with a burger van offering hot food, confectionary & soft drinks.
