Kate Thompson is back for 2025

Tá lúcháir ar Galway United a fhógairt go bhfuil Kate Thompson tar éis síniú arís d’fhoireann sinsir na mban roimh an séasúr nua in 2025.

Galway United are delighted to announce that Kate Thompson has re-signed for the senior women’s team ahead of the 2025 season.

The 19-year-old midfielder has committed to The Tribeswomen for 2025 and heads into her third season in Galway since signing for the club last year.

Thompson made 19 appearances in all competitions last season for United and scored two goals in that period and was a key part of the side that successfully defended their Avenir All-Island Cup in 2024.

Before joining United, Thompson played for Galway WFC in 2022 making 22 league appearances and scoring once.

Thompson has represented Ireland at various underage levels from U15 up and had spells as captain for both the U15’s and the U19’s. Thompson was recently awarded the U19 Women’s Player of The Year for 2024.
