Lynsey McKey is back for 2025

Galway United are delighted to announce that Lynsey McKey has re-signed for the senior women’s team ahead of the 2025 season.

The 34-year-old has committed to The Tribeswomen for 2025 and heads into her third season in Galway since signing for the club in our inaugural year in 2023.

Before joining United, McKey signed for Cork Women’s FC in 2011 and played with the club for two years. She moved to Galway WFC in 2013, making 146 appearances in all competitions and scored an impressive 74 goals during her nine years at the club.

In February of 2023, Mckey signed with United and was announced as our first ever women’s senior captain. The Clare native made 23 appearances in all competitions that season for United and helped the club to a historic victory in the Avenir Sports All-Island Cup. United’s first trophy in the senior women’s game. McKey then replicated it the following year as we retained our All-Island Cup title yet again. She also scored twice in the league in thirteen appearances in 2024.
