Moses Dyer signs for Galway United

FÁILTE MOSES DYER 👋

Tá lúcháir ar Gaillimh Aontaithe a fhógairt go bhfuil Moses Dyer ag síniú d’fhoireann sinsireach na bhfear.

Galway United are thrilled to announce the signing of New Zealand International, Moses Dyer for our Senior Men’s side.

The 27-year-old striker, Moses Dyer, brings a wealth of global experience, having played in New Zealand, Norway, Canada, and the United States along with being capped several times, scoring at senior international level with New Zealand.

WELCOMING DYER TO GALWAY 🇱🇻

Dyer joins the Tribesmen with an exciting blend of skill, energy, and experience, all of which he is eager to bring to Eamonn Deacy Park. Speaking about his move, Dyer shared:

“It feels amazing, finally, to get here. A little bit different with the weather, but I’m used to it after being in Canada for the last few years. I’ve heard so many great things about Galway—the city, the lifestyle, and the football here. The stadium sounds incredible, with how tight and loud it gets, and I can’t wait to experience it.”

“When I signed and told people—family, friends, even random people I met—funnily enough everyone had been to Galway and spoke so highly of it. That made me even more excited to come here,” he said.

Dyer has made a big impact at underage and senior levels for New Zealand. Captaining the side at U20 and U23 levels, including leading the team out at the FIFA U-20 World Cup. Dyer then went on to break into the Senior international side from 2018, and scored a winning goal against India in the OFC Nations Cup. He has since earned eleven caps for the Kiwis and is looking to add more to his tally with his recent move to Galway United.

“I really want to get back into the national team. It’s been a few years now, but I still talk about my time with the national team to this day—it includes some of my best moments. I’d love to get back in there,” he shared.

Moses began his professional career in New Zealand before embarking on an exciting journey across continents. Each stop along the way has shaped him into the player he is today. Most recently plying his trade in the top tier of Canada with Pacific FC on loan from Valour FC. With his time playing in Canada he earned 27 goals and 11 assists in 77 league games, in which he transitioned from a central midfielder into a goal scoring striker.

“Every team, every place I’ve played, has been a little bit different,” Moses reflected.
“Whether it’s the culture, the style of football, or even the physicality—like how physical the American and Norwegian leagues can be—I’ve had to adapt to different styles. It’s helped me grow, and I hope to bring all of that together to be a great player for Galway.”

WHAT TO EXPECT 🤔

Galway United fans can expect a dynamic and high-intensity player who gives 100% every time he steps onto the pitch as the New Zealand International himself explained at his unveiling earlier today:

“I’m a high-intensity type of player. I love to run in behind, I love to attack the goal, and no matter what, I’ll always give it my all for Galway United. I think the fans will see that,” Moses said.

Dyer is also looking forward to the challenges of the League of Ireland:
“I’ve heard great things about the league, there’s a lot of games in the League of Ireland—36 in the season—and I’m used to 28, so I’m excited to play more games and make a big impact.”
