Galway United are thrilled to share that David Hurley, Colm Horgan and Regan Donelon will be back in maroon for the 2025 season.

David Hurley

David Hurley is heading yet another season with United marking almost half a decade with the Tribesmen. Since signing in late 2020 from Cobh Ramblers, Hurley has been an integral part of the side, featuring in 139 competitive games. Within that time frame he has delivered with an impressive 64 goal contributions, with 37 goals and 27 assists over four seasons. In the 2023 season David Hurley was the club’s leading goalscorer with 21 league goals to his name. Following on from that stellar season in the First Division, Hurley cemented his place in the Premier Division in 2024 featuring in every single league game with 36 appearances, starting 24 games. Including a Man Of The Match performance against Bohemians and a crucial goal against Waterford earlier on in the season. Watch the highlights from the Waterford game below:

Colm Horgan

Galway United stalwart Colm Horgan returns in maroon for 2025. Horgan has made 180+ appearances for United over two spells since initially breaking into the side over a decade ago in 2014. Horgan earned 15 first team appearances in the 2024 season and registered an assist against St. Patrick’s Athletic late in the season, for a memorable Ed McCarthy goal. Horgan ranked in the top 10% in the Premier Division for interceptions and recoveries per 90, displaying his defensive and hard working playstyle. The Galwegian defender was set back for a period with injury from March until late June and will be looking to come back even stronger in 2025.

Regan Donelon

28-Year-Old full-back Regan Donelon is set for another year representing the Tribesmen. Donelon has made 39 competitive appearances for United since initially signing ahead of the 2023 season in which he was integral part of our record breaking First Division winning side. Donelon then went on to make thirteen more appearances for United in the Premier Division last year. He was impressive both defensively and offensively creating chances with pin point crosses and delivering on his defensive duties, contributing with an assist against against Dundalk in a crucial 2-0 win. Donelon unfortunately suffered an injury during the season which saw him out from May until September, and will be looking to feature more regularly in the 2025 season.
