UEFA sa Ghaeltacht

TG4 will broadcast the highly acclaimed UEFA sa Ghaeltacht at 5.35pm tomorrow, Sunday October 2nd.

The programme focuses on Galway United’s UEFA Cup game against Groningen on October 1st 1986. The match captured huge national and international interest when the An Cheathrú Rua community hosted our club which was struggling to find a Galway ground to host the European tie.

The programme is written and directed by Ronán Mac an Iomaire. The Carraroe native presents a most valuable social and sporting insight to a wonderful time in the club’s history.

Galway United were delighted to honour members of the An Cheathrú Rua pitch committee in recent weeks.
