Player’s Thoughts
We sat down with David Hurley ahead of Friday’s game to get his thoughts. You can watch it in full below:

Key Player: Aidan Keena

Aidan Keena has been in stellar form for St. Pat’s since returning to Ireland. The former Sligo Rovers forward has six goals to his name, despite being out with a medium term injury this season. Keena scored against United in the first meeting between the two teams this season, live from Eamonn Deacy Park.
Captain: Joe Redmond

FAI Cup winner Joe Redmond has been an ever present for St. Pat’s, making over a century of appearances in the past three seasons. Initially coming up through Birmingham City and back to Ireland briefly with Cork City and Drogheda United, Redmond has found his form with the Saints. A strong physical presence, Redmond has certainly put in some outstanding performances during his time with the Dublin side.
The Stats with Julian Canny π
This will be the 93rd meeting of the clubs with 26 wins for United, 24 draws and 42 defeats.
At Premier Division level it will be the 70th meeting with a record of 16-18-35
It will be our 49th meeting at home against St. Pat’s and weβve won 14 times previously at home with 15 draws and 19 wins for Patβs.
Last season we only took one point from the four meetings with them whereas this season we already have three after the win at home earlier in the season when a Patrick Hickey brace had us 2-0 up before an Aidan Keena wonder strike. He now has three goals in his career against us.
Our record home win came in the 91/92 season when we beat them 4-0 in Terryland in October 1991 with goals from Tommy Kearns, Noel Mernagh (x2) and Derek Rogers.
Our record home defeat to Patβs is also 0-4, in December 1990 and again in October 2001.
Player milestones for Friday

David Hurleyβs 160th appearance and what would be his 137th consecutive one.
Regan Donelon could make his 50th appearance
Evan Watts and Sean Kerrigan both in line for their 10th.

United earned a convincing 2-4 win at Turner’s Cross in our last game, with a first ever senior goal from Ava Mullins, and what a strike it was. Watch it all unfold below:

Key Player: Erin O’Brien

The Blue’s top scorer this season has been 20-year-old Erin O’Brien with three goals to her name. O’Brien signed this season from Munster rivals Cork City where she spent two years, making her senior debut in 2023 against Peamount United. Erin will certainly be a focal point for the Blues as they look to get a win in our first ever game against them.
Captain: Maeve Williams

Maeve Williams has been around the league for half a decade and has been a standout keeper and leader. Joining Wexford’s WU17 side in 2018, Williams made her first team debut in 2019 and cemented her spot as Wexford’s number one in 2022, earning appearances in the UEFA Champions League for the “Youths” at the time. It was in 2025, Waterford’s maiden season that Maeve made the switch.
MONDAY - SLIGO V UNITED π΄π±π»
