Smith joined Galway United in May 2024. Amanda hails from Ottawa, was a student at Francis Xavier University (StFX) in Antigonish, Canada. Smith joins after some very impressive performances at University level with the college football team called “X”. Here she won a multitude of awards, including the Most Valued Player in 2019/20 when she was beginning her career with the side and pushed on a lot since, in her fifth year with the side in 2023 she kept that form up. Making the All-Star team for the third time last year and winning multiple Player of the Week awards in September and October 23′. Scoring three goals in two games to open the season for “X’ she started in great form. Making her debut in 2024 and winning the All-Island Cup, Amanda has become a key part of the United side.
