Injury update ahead of Dundalk game

Galway United have little time to recover after a difficult encounter against Limerick FC at Eamonn Deacy Park on Friday evening. Tomorrow night, United travel to Oriel Park to take on Dundalk FC.

Ahead of the game, a number of players picked up knocks against Limerick and will face late fitness tests.

Long-term injury victims Kilian Cantwell, Jason Molloy and Andy O’Connell continue to be unavailable for selection.

Galway United physiotherapist Emmett Hartigan, of Thera Fitness www.physiogalway.ie, gave us an injury update after training on Sunday morning.

David O’Leary
David picked up a knock to his foot in the Limerick game after he was caught in a challenge. It’s soft tissue bruising. He’s expected to be passed fit for the Dundalk game.

Marc Ludden
Marc picked up a knee ligament strain in Friday’s game, blocking down a shot. He’s a doubt for the trip to Dundalk, he’ll have to pass a late fitness test before playing.

Paul Sinnott
Paul is struggling with a neck issue but he’s responding well to treatment. He will be assessed before the Dundalk game.

Kilian Cantwell
There’s no change in Kilian’s situation. He’s continuing rehab on his knee with Emmett.

Jason Molloy
Jason is also continuing his recovery from a broken metatarsal and he will be out for the foreseeable future.

Andy O’Connell
Andy’s recovery period from his ankle injury is expected to be at least a month.

Sam Oji has overcome a virus and he has served the last of his 4 game suspension. He is expected to be available for selection against Dundalk.
