Injury update from Emmett Hartigan

Following on from Monday evening’s EA SPORTS Cup win against Cockhill Celtic at Eamonn Deacy Park, Physiotherapist Emmett Hartigan, of Thera Fitness, spoke to www.galwayunitedfc.ie about the status of injured United players ahead of tonight’s Connacht derby against Sligo Rovers at Eamonn Deacy Park. Kick off: 7.45pm.

See Emmett’s injury update below:

Kilian Cantwell
Kilian is recovering from a knee injury sustained on our pre-season camp at FOTA Island. Kilian will be meeting with a consultant soon and we expect him to return to action in less than a month’s time.

Jason Molloy
Jason fractured his fifth metatarsal against Shamrock Rovers at Tallaght Stadium and he is looking at 6 weeks on the sideline recovering.

Aaron McDonagh
Aaron did light training on Thursday morning by himself and he will be put through a late fitness test before the Sligo Rovers game.

Andy O’Connell
Andy took a heavy knock in the Cockhill Celtic game and there was damage done to the ligaments in his right ankle. His expected rehabilitation time is 5 weeks.

David O’Leary
David trained with the rest of the squad yesterday after missing the Shamrock Rovers and Cockhill Celtic games and he looks to have recovered from his knee injury and will be available for selection against Sligo Rovers.

It’s derby day tonight! Galway United take on Sligo Rovers at Eamonn Deacy Park. Don’t miss it! Kick off is at 7.45pm!
