Injury update – Shamrock Rovers
Galway United kick-start the second half of the season with a tricky home fixture against third in the table Shamrock Rovers.
United players returned to training on Sunday morning buoyed by an important win away to Longford Town before the break. Meanwhile, a couple of players are nursing knocks ahead of Friday’s clash against the Hoops at Eamonn Deacy Park, while midfielder David O’Leary misses out due to suspension.
Galway United physiotherapist Emmett Hartigan, of Thera-Fitness physiogalway.ie, gave us an injury update on Thursday afternoon.
Andy O’Connell
Andy is continuing his rehabilitation on his foot injury and he is ruled out for an indefinite period.
Jason Molloy
Jason picked up a lower back injury against Longford Town before the mid-season break, he only trained fully on Thursday morning.
Gary Shanahan
Gary has an ankle ligament injury, which the medical staff are monitoring closely. He is a doubt for the visit of Shamrock Rovers.
Antaine O’Laoi
Antaine has been suffering with a tight hamstring, he’s recovering well and he should be available for selection on Friday night.
