MATCH PREVIEW | Finn Harps
Galway United travel to Ballisodare United in Sligo on Tuesday evening to face Finn Harps. Kick-off: 7.45pm.
The Tribesmen drew 3-3 against Sligo Rovers in an entertaining friendly opener at Solar 21 Park in Castlebar last week.
Alan Murphy’s side will make another trip north to face Premier Division opposition this evening and Murphy expects another stern test for his players.
“It’s great to get another game so quickly after the Sligo friendly at the weekend,” he explained to www.galwayunitedfc.ie.
“We’re getting some good work into all of our players and we’ll be looking to give everyone a minimum of 45 minutes in Sligo.
“We’ll pretty much have the same squad with the exception of a few absentees and trial players that are still with us, we’ll be looking to make decisions on them after this game.
“Finn Harps will give us a different type of test, but I’d expect that there will be a good bit of football played. All the players are looking forward to it and it’s a break away from the training ground.
“It’s good to be facing Premier Division opposition, we want to test ourselves in terms of where we are when it comes to fitness, strength and conditioning and our overall game.”
Team news: Marc Ludden and Shane Duggan are ruled out. Carlton Ubaezuonu, Donal Higgins and Jack O’Connor return to contention.
