MATCH PREVIEW: Linfield v Galway United (Avenir All Island Cup)
Galway United will face Linfield as our Avenir All Island Cup campaign gets underway in Midgley Park at 6pm.
United are coming into tomorrow’s game off the back of a 2-0 Connacht Derby win vs Sligo Rovers in The Showgrounds last Saturday, Therese Kinnevey and Jenna Slattery with the goals. The home side will be coming into tomorrow’s game with confidence after a 5-0 win against Lisburn Ladies in the Bluebell stadium.
The home side will be depending on Keri Halliday, their 18 year-old forward who has netted nine goals in eight games so far in the NIFL Women’s Premiership. Linfield have won four of their last five games, drawing one game as they sit in third place, behind second placed Cliftonville and leaders Glentoran.
Following tomorrow’s game in Group A, United will then face Athlone Town on the 24th of June and Shelbourne on the 1st of July, both games kicking off in Eamonn Deacy Park at 5pm.
