Maurice Nugent re-signs for 2024

Galway United are delighted to announce that Maurice Nugent has re-signed for the senior men’s team ahead of the 2024 season.
25-year-old Clare defender, Maurice Nugent has committed to The Tribesmen for 2024 after helping United claim their First Division title in the 2023 season playing thirty games and scoring two goals.

Nugent has been at the club for a number of years now, originally joining in 2014 from Mervue United, linking up with Galway United’s U19s team in 2017 and then making the breakthrough into the first team in 2017. Maurice has pushed on since and became a regular starter the season thereafter. He then became the appointed vice captain of United in 2019 and a regular starter in 2023 in our historic season.
