Billy O'Neill R.I.P
Galway United Football Club wish to express its sympathy with the family of the late Billy O’Neill. Billy served Galway with the greatest distinction in football and hurling, winning an All Ireland football medal in 1956 and representing the county in the hurling All Ireland against Tipperary two years later.
Billy was an ever present follower of Galway United in Terryland Park for many seasons. His genial presence and interest in the club and its development made an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to come in contact with him.
Billy is survived by his children Dermot, Maeve and Brian, brother Paddy, sister Sheila, son-in-law, daughters in law, grandchildren, extended family and a wide circle of friends.
Funeral in Renmore from 4pm to 6pm on Tuesday 6th January. Funeral Mass at Garrison Church at 11am on Wednesday.
