Therese Kinnevey re-signs for 2024

Tá lúcháir ar Gaillimh Aontaithe a fhógairt go bhfuil Therese Kinnevey tar éis síniú arís d’fhoireann sinsireach na mban roimh an séasúr nua i 2024.

Galway United are delighted to announce that Therese Kinnevey has re-signed for the senior women’s team ahead of the 2024 season. The 20 year old defender, has committed to The Tribeswomen for 2024 and heads into her second season for Galway United after joining from Galway WFC in 2022.

Therese Kinnevey, from Killannin, County Galway, initially played football Oughterard locally before joining  up with Galway WFC’s U17 side in 2018. Her performances at academy level earned her a place in the club’s senior side in 2020. She spent three years with the club, making 60 appearances until the club withdrew from the league at the end of 2022. Therese has also represented Ireland on multiple occasions at underage levels and has a vast amount of experience for such a young age.

Kinnevey, a student, also plays with the University of Galway first team. She has had great success here completing her studies while playing for Galway United. In both 2022 and 2023 she won the WSCAI Cup, with Therese herself winning the Player Of The Match in the 2022 final.

In December 2022, Therese became the first player in the history of the club to sign for our senior women’s team. She had a successful debut year with United helping the team win the Avenir Sports All-Island Cup, even scoring in a penalty shoot out win in the semi-final. She has been a key figure for United all season with her defensive work and marauding runs forward. Therese Kinnevey will be a great asset to United in 2024.
