Ryan Connolly suffers calf-tear

United have been dealt a blow with the news that captain Ryan Connolly has suffered a tear to his calf.

The extent of the injury was confirmed before Friday’s league game against Dundalk, after the results of an MRI scan came through.

Galway United Euro 2016 DrawTommy Dunne said: “Ryan had a scan and I’m afraid there’s a tear in his calf.

“He he could be out for three or four weeks and it’s a big blow for us.”

Connolly joins Padraic Cunningham (knee) and Stephen Folan (back) on the sideline.
