Match Preview: Galway United v Limerick

Galway United host bottom club Limerick FC at Eamonn Deacy Park on Friday night. Kick-off: 7.45pm.

The Super Blues are rejuvenated and one of the leagues form clubs at the moment, while Galway United will boosted by a crucial derby win against Sligo Rovers at Eamonn Deacy Park last week.

When the sides met in Galway earlier in the season, United triumphed, winning 3-2 but Friday’s encounter will be another decisive fixture as both clubs bid to avoid the relegation places.

TOMMY DUNNE: “WE HAVE TO BUILD SOME MOMENTUM”
“The Sligo Rovers win was hugely important, it was timely. I don’t think many people gave us a chance against them.

“Anybody that watched the game will have noticed the resilience my players displayed. We’re still up for the fight and we will be eager to finish this season as strongly as possible.

“Some have written us off but we still believe in ourselves, in our abilities, and we’re willing to do the hard-work.

“We have to continue our form into the Limerick game and we need to build some momentum. Limerick will be another stern test for us. We know that they are the leagues form team along with Dundalk.

“They will be thinking they can come to Eamonn Deacy Park and turn us over but we have other ideas. We have to improve on our Sligo Rovers performance and continue to be clinical in-front of goal when the chances present themselves again.

“It’s another big game for us,” Dunne told www.galwayunitedfc.ie.
