Over the last number of weeks, Galway United U19 manager Johnny Glynn and his backroom team have been assessing players from across Galway city and county and further afield as the start of U19 season looms.
Over 65 players have underwent trials with the club, these included players who were invited by the management team along with players who were recommended by clubs locally.
Training is on-going and Johnny Glynn will trim his squad down to 28 by the 25th of July.
Galway United’s U19 squad will be finalised and officially announced on the 7th of August.
Glynn is content with the progress his squad have been making, he told www.galwayunitedfc.ie: “We’ve been training well and a lot of players have come in and worked hard and showed a real desire to play for Galway United.
“Now we have to make the difficult decisions on the players, but we’ll be finalising our squad shortly.
“I’ve been impressed with what I’ve seen and I’m confident we can assemble a competitive squad, I’m looking forward to the start of the season.”
