Galway United are delighted to announce the re-signing of Gary Boylan.
Boylan, who signed for United in November 2020 and went on to make 28 appearances for the club last year, has re-signed for the Tribesmen for the forthcoming 2022 League of Ireland campaign.
The Belmullet native, who previously plied his trade for Sligo Rovers and Cork City, can be utilised in a number of defensive positions on the pitch – most recently in the holding midfield role where he excelled last season.
The 25-year-old was delighted to put pen to paper and commit to another campaign in the maroon jersey.
“It is great to be signed back,” Boylan told the club’s media team.
“It was disappointing last year that we didn’t get over the line but I feel this year, with the strong and experienced squad we have, we shouldn’t be too far away.
“It will help us with the crowds back to full capacity this season. The support was a massive help to us last year and it will be great to get back playing again in front of a full Eamonn Deacy Park.
“It was a tough division last year but this year it is going to be tougher. We know that there is nothing easy about this division so we need to be well prepared. We shouldn’t be too far away hopefully.”
